Charter Spectrum WR14 Rock Drilling
Charter Communications brought Cannon in for the hardest part of the WR14 build: horizontal directional drilling through solid rock along a winding road with restricted setup areas. Cannon drove 20 bores totaling 5,362 feet, pulled in 2 inch HDPE for the communication lines, held 300 feet a day in rock ground conditions, and closed the entire scope in 18 working days in the spring of 2024.
Services Employed:
- 20 bores totaling 5,362 feet driven through solid rock in 18 working days
- Averaged 300 feet per day in rock ground conditions
- 2 inch HDPE communication conduit installed
- Ditches plated with 4 by 8 steel plates to build drill setups on a winding road with restricted access
