Interested in working with Team Cannon?
Cannon self-performs most of its work and brings in subcontractors where a specialty trade or a local requirement calls for it. Our service area keeps expanding, and we qualify subcontractors on experience and safety record. Prequalification runs through the Cannon subcontractor portal, from the first invitation to the annual renewal.
Trades we subcontract and the record we expect
Cannon's own crews perform the power, telecommunications, drilling, civil and engineering scope on most projects. Subcontractors are engaged for specialty work and for local coverage as the service area grows: traffic control and flagging, paving and concrete flatwork, landscaping and restoration, tree trimming and vegetation management, hauling and disposal, specialty testing, environmental and survey services, and licensed trades in jurisdictions where a local registration is required.
Every subcontractor is expected to comply with local, state and federal safety regulations and with Cannon's safety and health procedures, which are described on the safety page. Subcontractors on utility and federal work are also expected to meet the owner's prequalification, badging and drug and alcohol program requirements, and to maintain the insurance limits in the subcontract.

Five steps from invitation to subcontract
Request an invitation
Email subsafety@teamcannon.com with your company name, trade, service area and a contact. Cannon's project team or procurement group sends an invitation to the subcontractor portal.
Sign in with a one-time passcode
The invitation email links to the portal. Sign in with your email address and the one-time passcode it sends you. There is no password to keep.
Complete the profile
Upload current certificates of insurance, business and trade licences, safety information including your OSHA logs and experience modification rate, W-9 and references. The portal lists exactly what is required for your trade.
Cannon reviews
Safety and procurement review the submission against the standards for the work. Where something is missing or expiring, the portal tells you and you can upload the replacement.
Master agreement and subcontract
Approved subcontractors execute a master subcontract agreement. Each project is released under it with a project-specific subcontract, scope and schedule.
Renewals and the annual profile update
Certificates of insurance
The portal tracks expiry dates. Upload the renewal certificate before the current one lapses; expired coverage pauses new project releases until it is replaced.
Licences and registrations
Business licences, contractor registrations and trade licences are tracked the same way, including state registrations needed outside Washington.
Annual profile update
Once a year the portal emails a reminder to confirm contacts, safety statistics for the prior year, insurance and licences. Completing it keeps your company active on the approved list.
Subcontractor questions
How do I get an invitation to the portal?
Email subsafety@teamcannon.com with your company name, trade, service area and a contact name and email. If a Cannon project manager has already asked you to prequalify, they can send the invitation directly.
I did not receive the one-time passcode.
Check your junk or quarantine folder for mail from connect.teamcannon.com and ask your IT group to allow that domain. Request a new code from the login page; each code is valid for a short window, so use the most recent one.
What documents do I need before I start?
A current certificate of insurance, your business licence and any trade or contractor licence, your OSHA 300 and 300A logs for the past three years, your experience modification rate letter, a W-9 and a written safety program. The portal lists any trade-specific items.
What insurance limits does Cannon require?
Limits are set in the master subcontract agreement and may be raised to match an owner's requirement on a specific project. Cannon Companies, LLC and its affiliates must be named as additional insured on a primary and non-contributory basis with a waiver of subrogation. The exact wording is in the subcontract and in the portal's insurance section.
How long does review take?
Most complete submissions are reviewed within a few business days. The portal shows status, and you receive an email when the review is finished or when something needs attention.
My certificate or licence is about to expire. What happens?
The portal sends a reminder ahead of the expiry date. Upload the renewal and your status stays active. If a document lapses, new project releases pause until the replacement is on file.
Do I have to renew every year?
Yes. Once a year the portal asks you to confirm your profile, contacts, safety statistics, insurance and licences. It takes a few minutes if your documents are current.
Does prequalification guarantee work?
No. It places your company on Cannon's approved subcontractor list for the trades and areas you qualified for. Projects are released by subcontract as the work and the location call for your trade.
What safety requirements apply on a Cannon site?
Local, state and federal regulations and Cannon's safety and health procedures, including a job briefing before each task, stop work authority for every worker and the owner's site-specific requirements. Utility and federal sites may add badging, drug and alcohol testing and training requirements, which Cannon communicates before mobilization.
How do I get paid?
Pay applications are submitted against the subcontract with the required lien releases and certified payroll where the project is public work. Payment terms are in the master subcontract agreement.
Who do I contact with questions?
Email subsafety@teamcannon.com or call 253.922.2787 and ask for subcontractor prequalification.
