Iron Mountain Quarry Line Extension

Half mile electrical line extension at an operating rock quarry in Granite Falls, built overhead and underground up a rock face to a new 1500 kVA pad mount transformer serving the quarry’s electric mining equipment. Cannon held the contract directly with the quarry and carried the work from estimate through energization: route and structure work up the face, the transition between overhead and underground construction, conduit and cable installation, the transformer pad and setting, and terminations at both ends. The extension was built into a working quarry, so construction was sequenced around active mining operations and haul traffic, with the electric shovel it feeds staying in production throughout.
