Clallam PUD Washington Street to Port Williams Road 115kV Rebuild

  • WhereSequim, WA | Power
  • Discipline Power

Rebuild of Clallam County PUD’s 115kV transmission line from Washington Street to Port Williams Road in Sequim, replacing aging wood structures with fire resistant fiberglass poles and crossarms, held by Cannon directly with the District. Cannon removes 29 wood transmission poles, one distribution pole, six span guy poles and three 115kV V-switches, and installs 29 single pole 115kV fiberglass transmission structures with 12.5kV distribution underbuild, one fiberglass distribution pole, six span guy poles and a new V-switch. On award Cannon provided switching orders that allowed a significant portion of the distribution underbuild to be single phased during construction, avoiding four major planned outages affecting more than 800 customers. The project is federally funded grid hardening administered through the Washington Grid Resilience Program.
