City of Milton Substation and Feeder Program
Engineering, procurement and construction for the City of Milton’s municipal electric utility, held by Cannon in a prime contract position directly with the City. The work covered substation feeder engineering, vaults and civil work, and getaway feeders out of the substation, then extended across the distribution system to include substation upgrades, underground and overhead upgrades, and the complete rebuild of one feeder. The overhead work was performed on the live municipal system, with three phase conductors lifted clear of the pole top on a boom mounted fiberglass auxiliary arm and rubber cover up in place, so structures were changed out without dropping service to the City.
Services Employed:
- Substation feeder engineering
- Getaway feeders constructed out of the substation
- Precast vault setting and associated civil work
- Underground distribution upgrades
- Overhead distribution upgrades on the energized system
- Complete rebuild of one distribution feeder
- Material procurement and vendor management
- Energization and turnover to the City, with on call storm response and maintenance pole change outs
