Gingko to Main Repair Line and Substation

Overhead line extension and new substation construction for the US Army Corps of Engineers at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, tying new facilities into existing Tacoma Power transmission feeds. Cannon set 47 Class 2 poles from 55 to 65 feet across a line extension of more than two miles, strung with 795 ACSR, and installed 21,000 feet of parallel 500 kcmil 15kV cable. Jack and bore operations at two crossings carried 2 foot bore conduit with 4 inch fiberglass ducts beneath obstructions. Cannon then built a new substation from the ground up, including all bussing, landing gear and the control hut, and tied in the existing transmission feeds so the new station carried load without interruption to the installation.
