SR 520 Bellevue Way Live Fiber Relocation for Verizon and Comcast
For the rebuild of the SR 520 Bellevue Way overpass, Cannon relocated four live Verizon and Comcast fiber optic cables without an outage or a splice. Phase one, completed ahead of schedule, exposed 300 feet of CDF encased fiber duct bank, removed the CDF and PVC from around the four live cables, set four utility poles, placed strand and raised the cables from underground to aerial so the overpass could be torn down and rebuilt. Phase two placed a new six-way fiber optic duct bank in the roadway and across the new overpass.
Services Employed:
- 300 feet of CDF encased fiber duct bank exposed
- CDF and PVC removed from four live fiber optic cables
- Four utility poles set and strand placed
- Four live cables raised from underground to aerial with no outages or splicing
- Phase two: new six-way fiber optic duct bank in the roadway and across the new overpass
