McChord AFB Inside Plant and Airfield Communications
Years before the CITS upgrade, Cannon rewired McChord Air Force Base for voice, video and data. Crews completed an inside plant rewire of 23 buildings, upgraded and rewired four aircraft hangars, installed more than 600,000 feet of Category 5 cable and 7,000 feet of EMT, and terminated, tested and spliced more than 10,000 fibers through a secure network cutover that upgraded 30 communication closets. On the airfield Cannon installed 50,000 feet of duct bank, 30 manholes and 50,000 feet of fiber, and demolished and hauled off 300,000 square feet of runway.
