Comcast Master Service Agreement

Comcast has run its Washington plant construction through Cannon under a master service agreement since 2017, across multiple job numbers. Cannon builds new aerial and underground plant for fiber and coax by bore, trench, open cut and strand placement, splices and tests every medium, and carries the engineering and permitting that goes in front of it. On the Silverdale, Lake Stevens and Sumas EPON fiber to the home build alone, Cannon bored 45,668 feet, drove another 14,932 feet of hardpan bore, placed 81,482 feet of new aerial, set 21 splice cases and made 528 fusion splices, finishing ahead of schedule and on budget.

Services Employed:

• New aerial and underground plant for fiber and coax by bore, trench, open cut and strand placement on existing and new poles
• 45,668 feet bored and 14,932 feet of hardpan bore on the Silverdale, Lake Stevens and Sumas EPON build
• 81,482 feet of new aerial placed, 21 splice cases set and 528 fusion splices
• More than 120 miles of rural broadband engineered and permitted at Lake Stevens for 2,200+ homes across 1,500+ pole attachments
• 23+ miles engineered and permitted into the City of Sumas for 750+ homes and 23+ miles on the North Key Peninsula for 570+ homes
• Approvals secured from WSDOT, Snohomish County, Snohomish PUD, Bonneville Power Administration, Pierce County, Puget Sound Energy, Peninsula Power and Light, Ziply Fiber, CenturyLink and BNSF
• Construction ready plan sets, traffic control designs, engineer’s estimates and as-built documentation
• New plant spliced, tested and commissioned ahead of schedule and on budget
