Antioch Brackish Water Desalination Project
The Antioch Brackish Water Desalination Project will provide a new source of water for the City of Antioch that is not subject to the effects of the Sacramento–San Joaquin Bay–Delta (Bay–Delta) water quality or quantity regulations. The project will have the capacity to provide 8 million gallons per day (mgd) of drinking water to the City, with the potential to expand to 16 mgd in the future. The project includes the construction of a new river intake pump station, a new desalination facility, and a new brine disposal pipeline.
