Leadership MICHAEL D. CANNON President & CEO Mike Cannon is the founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Cannon Companies. As Cannon surpassed its 30 year anniversary and continues to experience significant growth, the one constant is Mike’s active participation and influence – sustaining the core values of Safety, Quality, Integrity and Teamwork. Mike started his career operating a backhoe with his undeniable entrepreneurial spirit that defines success. His contagious positive attitude and focus on making an impact on employees’ lives continues to drive the Cannon Culture. Mike grew up in Tacoma, WA and is married to Penny with two sons, Cade and Cutter, that also have begun their own businesses. Mike is actively involved in his community, regularly volunteering and donating to the Harbor History Museum, the Boys and Girls club and Life Christian Academy, along with numerous other entities. DARRIN MOLOZNIK VP & COO Darrin “D” Moloznik is Vice-President, Treasurer and Chief Operating Officer of Cannon Companies effective June 10, 2013. As Chief Operating Officer, “D” manages general business processes and activities driving strategy and execution across Cannon Companies Business Units. Prior to joining Cannon, “D” served as Associated Director for Ernst and Young leading a regional professional service teams dedicated to disciplines across tax, general consulting and business technology. Prior experience includes leadership positions at Big 4 and Enterprise Technology firms. “D” joined Cannon in June 2013 and has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Accounting from California Polytechnic University. He has a passion for coaching and training career minded employees and believes Attitude is everything. “D” was born and raised in California and has enjoyed career moves through New Jersey, Texas and now lives in Gig Harbor, WA. He enjoys spending time with his family, Kathleen and three kids Mackenna, Max and Mo playing basketball, soccer and riding motorcycles. TOM SHEARD General Manager As General Manager, Tom is tasked with sustaining our profitable growth across Cannon Companies portfolio of services. He has been instrumental in implementing a consistent approach of Project Management processes that drive quality projects with the goal of exceeding client expectations. Tom started his career at Cannon as a 19 year old laborer. His commitment and capabilities were quickly observed and more opportunities were presented. He moved up the ranks including being an equipment operator, job foreman, superintendent and project manager. His leadership today is highly valued based on his overall hands-on approach and work experience. In addition, Tom has furthered his career knowledge securing PMP certification. In his spare time, Tom, his wife and two boys are avid motorcycle enthusiasts and enjoy riding and racing all types. RICK INGRAM General Manager of Government Operations As the General Manager of Government Operations, Rick brings over 30 years’ experience working with Federal Government Programs and Projects. Since 1995, his career began learning in the field as an equipment operator and foreman. His management and success in constructing projects was quickly identified and supported the transition to project management following. Rick began to participate and gain experience estimating jobs with a focus on DOD projects both locally and across the country. In his current position as Director of the Government Group, he is responsible for overseeing the office at JBLM including the project management, estimating and all Federal Jobs that Cannon serves including advanced telecommunications and electrical installations, upgrades, modifications and relocation projects from various U.S. Government organizations. Rick is a proud supporter of our local military though many different events and organizations such as the AUSA. Outside of the office Rick enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 kids while enjoying time outdoors hunting, fishing as well as, restoring old cars. BRIAN FREEMAN Director of Resources As the Director of Resources, Brian is responsible for the smooth operation of our company’ facilities, staff & equipment. Brian began his career at Cannon as an operator and demonstrated leadership qualities as a crew leader and shortly thereafter led to a role as a project manager. From there he continued to grow into his current role as Director of Resources. In addition to his 10+ years in the construction industry, Brian has a deep understanding of the technical aspects of our work and approaches to minimize risk, maximize a safe and positive work environment while serving our clients with distinction. During his free time Brian enjoys auto-crossing his turbocharged RZR and racing at the local tracks. KYLE CONN Director of Engineering As the Director of Engineering at Cannon, Kyle is responsible for providing oversight and direction on engineering projects within the telecommunication industry at Cannon. Kyle has over 14 years of civil engineering experience working on a verity of fiber optic and coax infrastructure projects, ranging from small business inclusion and long-haul transport infrastructure to expansive private rural broadband projects serving thousands of residential homes. In addition to his background in engineering, Kyle has extensive knowledge of local, state and federal permitting standards and requirements. Kyle joined Cannon in 2018 with the goal of creating an industry leading engineering department at Cannon that focuses on employee development and empowering individuals to achieve their potential. Together with his team of engineers and permit specialists, Kyle has helped redefine telecommunication engineering within Washington State. SHAWN VANGEYSTEL Director of Outside Plant Construction Shawn, the Director of Outside Plant Construction, brings an impressive 23 years of experience in the utility industry to the team. His expertise lies in managing MSA contracts and technical projects for a multitude of clients, as well as overseeing all aspects of telecom infrastructure – from underground, aerial, coax, and fiber systems. He is in charge of supervising his team, encouraging collaboration and fostering innovation among them. His skills in assessing projects, budgets, and implementing strategic objectives make him an invaluable asset. Furthermore, Shawn has served 6 years in the Army and 1 year in the National Guard. During his leisure time, he enjoys the outdoors, such as hiking, camping, and traveling. DENISE SHOOT Director of Human Resources Denise has been the Director of Human Resources at Team Cannon since 2016. She manages talent acquisition, employee relations and benefit administration. She also develops and implements Cannon’s HR strategies, policies, and procedures. Her focus is on strategic planning and sustaining the Distinct Cannon Culture. Denise has an ambitious personality and strives to facilitate growth and leadership. Denise graduated from Washington State University with a B.S. in Business. She has over 25+ years’ experience in Management and HR and has worked for a variety of Hospitality, Manufacturing and Construction organizations. In addition, Denise has the entrepreneurial spirit, having owned her own business. This background has further emphasized her focus on employee career’s, their personal growth, AND the belief that Cannon’s biggest asset is our people. She married her High School sweetheart and has been married for 26 years. She has two children and has a passion for travel. CADE CANNON Director of IT & Innovation As the director of IT & Innovation, Cade is responsible for developing and implementing innovative strategies to improve our company’s competitiveness. A big believer in the power of collaboration, Cade works with many teams to implement new technologies and services. Cade started his career in 2006 and has over 16 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He is a strong advocate for the use of technology to improve business operations and is always looking for ways to improve the company’s bottom line. In his free time, Cade enjoys spending time with his wife and young children. He also enjoys road-trips, traveling and riding eBikes with his family. SHANE GOTTBREHT Director of Inside Plant Construction Shane, Director of Inside Plant Construction at Cannon, brings a wealth of experience to the team with more than a decade in the telecommunications industry. His expertise extends to both Inside and Outside plant construction practices, making him a vital asset in facilitating collaboration between these two areas of expertise. Shane’s dedication to providing exceptional service to all clients sets him apart, and his commitment to maintaining high service levels is unmatched. This includes managing large Master Service Agreement (MSA) contracts to high value bid jobs in which navigating complex builds, with multiple stakeholders, and defined “go live” dates have been executed proficiently accelerating client value. Shane’s career at Cannon has been marked by his unwavering determination and meticulous attention to detail. These qualities include elevating his teams and contributing to their collective and individual successes. Outside of his professional life, Shane enjoys spending his free time in the great outdoors. Hunting and camping are among his favorite activities, allowing him to connect with nature and unwind. Additionally, he takes pleasure in watching his daughter excel in volleyball, showing his support for her interests and achievements both in and out of the workplace.
