High Voltage Awareness Training
Electrical safety for the people who install, maintain, repair, troubleshoot or work around power generation, transmission and distribution equipment, with the telecommunications worker on the joint-use pole in mind.
Who it is for and what it covers
Informal on-the-job training around energized equipment is dangerous. This course gives crews the understanding of electrical hazards, safety regulations, safe work procedures, protective equipment and standards that prevents accidents, outages and injuries, and it sharpens the ability to read and apply OSHA, the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), ASTM, WAC and other electrical safety regulations.

Classes run at our Milton, WA center (60 students) and at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (30 students). Both have hands-on simulators: cellular tower, pole top rescue pole, communication hut and confined space vault.
